This Too Shall Pass - masking technique

I was inspired recently by a card made by Melissa Massy. She masked a moon on one card and a sun on another and then stamped the sunny side of life and it was just stunning! I played around with several looks on sugar and vanilla and finally decided to play with seattle. This is what I came up with - a setting sun scene. What do you think?

I made a mask with a circle die. I sponged lemon whip and then sponged over that with papaya - just on the edges and the circled into the center but didn't blend it into the lemon whip. Isn't that pretty? It gives the setting sun more texture. And, just a quick tip - to keep your sponge daubers smooth, start with your dauber on the mask and pull onto the card.

The next step was to remove the mask and stamp Sunny Side of Life over the top in onyx ink. A little sentiment in currant ink finished off the card. The seattle layer was placed on the lemon whip card base. I love this color combo. Very soothing for a sympathy or thinking of you or get well soon or leave off the sentiment and just have a lovely notecard. Make several and it's a gift. Lots of possibilities with this one.
The inside is simple with just a thinking of you also in currant.
