Thinking of You (Pinterest Inspired) and free calendar download

I saw this color block card on Pinterest and knew I needed to make one too. The a muse studio "friend to friend" stamp set is perfect for this project. The cardbase is apricot cardstock with a layer of sugar cardstock on top.

First I made a template with a square spellbinder die. I used a post-it to block the other squares and using my sponge dauber sponged heather, apricot and lichen in each of the "open squares". The key is to start off on the template and pull the sponge dauber onto the open square. This will keep your sponge dauber in tip-top condition and will also put the heaviest ink layer on your template, not on your card. This will give you a softer color block look.

After sponging and stamping the florals with onyx ink, I used the word window die set and cut the opening. I stamped the greeting on a scrap of lichen cardstock and slid it behind the opening.
Here's the inside! You  could choose any color to repeat but I'm partial to purple so the heather ink was the perfect finishing touch. And, you can see that the a│s cardstock is white (sugar) on the inside so it's perfect for card-making!
