Merry Little Christmas - Chalkboard Technique

Here's another fun chalkboard technique card. It features the Merry Little Christmas stamp set which is embossed in white on onyx cardstock. Then, a little amethyst ink (yep - amethyst!) was sponge daubed over the top and smooshed around with a paper towel to create that chalky effect. It's another way to do the chalkboard technique without re-stamping over the top of embossing. And, it is a great ink color to use because the amethyst color is very subtle. The silver star washi tape is wrapped around the cherry petite polka dot strip and then place to the left of the onyx square. A bit of silver shimmer cardstock is layered over the seam and all of that is put on a piece of pistachio cardstock and layered onto the kraft cardstock base. A silver shimmer star and silver sequin finishes off the look. I love the Americana feel of this Christmas card. What do you think?
And, here's the inside. A sentiment from Christmas Joy and Cheer in cherry ink. Simple and pretty because of the fabulous font, don't you agree?!

If you need these products in your stamp collection, you can find them in my webstore: www.amusestudio.com/seleise

Have a wonderfully creative day!!

Love this, I have been cheating with the chalkboard effect so far, buying them ready done!

Thank-you!

I am using the chalk look for the first time on my Christmas cards. I'm using the fishtail die, large bow die/bells with It's a wonderful life stamp. It just looked plain, missing something. So glad I have Amethyst ink, off to try this.
