Flamingo Fun!

I made a couple of sets of Flamingo cards earlier this Fall for an order and they were just so fun! I based them off of cards I'd designed for class this summer and used all kinds of inspirational and fun quotes. Card sets are always a great hostess gift, teacher gift, neighbor gift, thank you gift or whatever. Or, they can be turned into simple banners too.

Purple Flamingos are awesome!

Miss You - Double Z-Fold Box Card!

This card is soooo fun! I love how it looks and it's so easy to make. I made two versions of the double z-fold card. I did one that was horizontal (shown here) and one vertical (coming soon). So many ways to play and decorate. You can do a wider band across or narrower or several. So many options.

Here are the dimensions for this "Miss You" card:
Card base:  4-1/8" X 11. Score at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2".
Band is 1-1/8" X 11". Score at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2".

The layer pieces are 1/8" smaller than the flap so 2-5/8" X 4" for the card layers.

1 X 5-3/8", 1 X 2-5/8" (twice) for the band.

Here's the folded look. It fits into an A2 envelope with ease.
I have to stop and say - aren't the colors gorgeous! Grape, Berry and Lime mixed with Vanilla - yum!! And, party foul on my part when I designed my card, I didn't realize that the Everything's Rosy paper pack had been discontinued. It was my fave! But, you can use any coordinating DP for the butterfly trio dies and it will be wonderful! I love the bow on the mason jar die cut out! You could put it anywhere on the jar and you could change the sentiments out to birthday or anniversary or friendship - it works for so many things!
Here's the card open - see that cool box effect.
And, here's a slightly blurry top view - so fun!
The cool thing is that when you stretch it out to the full length - it lays completely flat so it's easy to write a note to the recipient. :)
I hope you'll try making a double z-fold box card. Play around with the width of the band and have a blast!

All supplies (except for Everything's Rosy) are in my webstore: www.amusestudio.com/seleise

Three Cheers for the Red, White and Blue - a summery twist!

Does this look familiar? It should. A recent post used this same design in summery bright, fun colors. Since we're approaching the 4th of July, I gave it a patriotic twist with the red, white and blue! Isn't that fun!! Makes me happy. And, added a few little dots of white on the border and the flamingo with the signo white gel pen (because it's awesome!).
And, check out the patriotic watercolor tropical flowers! Again, a little white signo gel pen action and there's also wink of stella for shimmer which adds to the pretty factor.

This the last day for the June Collection so order today to ensure you can have these wonderful sets (Be Yourself and Tropical Flowers) as part of your personal stamp collection! www.amusestudio.com/seleise

Don't Make Me Prove It: Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It's the last day of the summer coffee lovers blog hop. I've just hopped through about 140 posts so far but I'm going to keep going because I've really appreciated all the comments left here and on Instagram. And, for the first time ever...I posted a card every single day of the hop!! So fun!
So, I had an extra panel of stamped tropical flowers from my Youer than You card's so I decided to change it to a coffee card. I finished it and liked it but once again thought it needed something. So...tonight I worked on it a bit and yea!

A little sponging on  the top panel, a die cut oval stamped with the sentiment and a few of the tropical flowers added and voila! It's so much better, don't you think? And, now my cards on the hop are bookended with the same color theme as the first. This time Be Yourself is paired with Need to Venti. And, there's a little shimmer on the cup from wink of stella.

Favorite Perk! Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I don't know about you but I get on a stamp kick and no matter what I make, I'll keep using whatever stamp I'm stuck on. Right now it's the retiring polka dot patterns. I think it looks awesome on backgrounds and borders and here it is again. ;)

The feature image is from Art Impressions.  Such fun images to color and anytime you mix friendship and coffee, it's a good thing.

I'm posting a other card later today. I don't love it so may change my mind. But then again, I might post it so everyone can feel better about their art. :)

There's just today and tomorrow left for hopping so get your coffee stamps and play along! http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2016/06/summer-coffee-lovers-blog-hop-2/

Morning is Not My Friend! Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

This is so me and so true! I love the idea of morning but usually stay up too late so morning is a struggle...

I picked up this Taylored Expression stamp from Butterfly Reflections,  Inc. I bought it because of this sentiment. I usually say "morning is not my forte" but this slips out sometimes too. Lol! It was a stamp made for me!

The tag bundle paired with the retiring Polka Dot Patterns and Mod Backgrounds 2 provides the tag element and backgrounds on the berry cardstock.

Hop along with us! You'll be so inspired!

Be Yourself! Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

It's here! It's time!! It's the Fabulous Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop and it is FABULOUS!! I have several cards in the works so be sure to check back often! And, click through on the Blog Hop image below the last card photo and hop on through! You won't regret it!

So, on to the card!! What is more summery than a flamingo?!! This is a variation on my previous card. It's all the same stamp, Be Yourself from the A Muse Studio June Collection, and the same inks. Isn't it fun? I started with vanilla cardstock for the bow, the cup (from the retiring Perk Up stamp set - get it before it's gone forever!) and the flamingo tag. I ADORE the bow stamped with the floral mix. Both sides were stamped before assembly and grass green ink was drug along the edge. Isn't that fun!! Here's a close-up!
Berry, grass and orange inks were used for the florals and bubblegum was used for the flamingo and the hexagon background. Of course, the tag bundle die set is FANTASTIC and makes the best layering pieces for cards.
The beak on the flamingo is paper pieced and the wing is popped up.
This card would definitely make someone's day, don't you agree?! All the pieces and parts are in the June Collection (click on my shop - www.amusestudio.com/seleise, click on stamps, click on June Collection and the stamp set and die set are there! Perk Up, which is retiring, is in the Stamps section under Parties and Packaging)

Continue hopping on through the blog hop and hope to see you back here too!
Have a fabulous day!

No One Alive is Youer Than You!

I ADORE the Be Yourself stamp set from the A Muse Studio June Collection. First, the flamingo is fabulous! Second, the sentiments are AWESOME! And, third, you can make your own fantastic background paper with the leaves, flowers and fronds in the set! How great is that?!!!
Stand tall Darling! Oh yes, such a great message to send!

The Be Yourself stamp set is only available in the June Collection so be sure to order before the end of the month! www.amusestudio.com/seleise

Have a most wonderful day!

Hello Kickstand Card

Ah, Melon! Such a happy color and such a great card color for Spring! Basket Case and Mini blooms stamp sets bring this card to life. A little paper piecing, a little scoring and a touch of shimmer with the stardust finishing spray. And, isn't the font on Hello, Gorgeous just fabulous! Love it!
Here's a close-up. The scoring is 1/4" and inked on top of the "bumps". It's a great way to add texture without adding bulk. And, the little splotches that look like water drops in this photo are actually shimmery splotches from the stardust finishing spray. It looks lovely in real life. :) The bicycle seat and basket are paper pieced and a flower is stamped on melon and plopped on top of the basket too. I might add more or pop it up next time.
Here's the kickstand card from the back. It's an 8" X 4-1/4" card base scored at 4". As you can see the stitched circle detail overlaps the top. You just want to have your envelope beside you so you make sure the card fits in the envelope before you attach it with pop dots.
Here's the side view. Such a fun card fold because it's so easy but has great impact. :)
And, here's the inside. Another layering of melon inks (ink once, stamp twice) and a little grass ink makes the color pop by adding some leaves.

All of the supplies and products can be found in my a muse studio webstore: www.amusestudio.com/seleise

Happy Fall Y'All - A foxy card!

I kn ow it's spring but I just realized that I forgot to post this happy fox card from last fall. Hey Foxy is a great set to color up for birthday and friendship cards too! This is colored in Lipstick Red copic on kraft and the outlining is done with the white gel pen. Isn't that cool? I love the pop of white that makes on the image. And, the pinking circles are still available in the monthly collections. So fun for stamping and layering. :)
Here's the simple fall leaves inside.

I'm almost getting past the crazy busy times of work and settling back into just busy. Hope to do better at updating and posting as I've been making cards - just not getting them onto the net. :)

Friends are Therapists... Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! - Blog Candy!

It's back and it's so fun!! The Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is here and it's AWESOME! You've got to check out all the great projects (click on the graphic) and hey - if you have time, play along! You'll be glad you did!

My first project is actually a tea project but you could easily put a k-cup or small packet of coffee inside instead of the tea (or cocoa or more) so it's versatile. You could even put in a little bottle of kahlua and a k-cup or cocoa...just sayin' *wink*

I decided to put in a Little Debbie Caramel Bar and a Bigelow Vanilla Caramel tea packet. Trust me - this is a fabulous combination! In fact, I want to share one or two of these. So, leave a comment and I'll draw for some recipients.

If you want to make some, here are the pieces and parts used to create the project! enjoy!
