Since we last gathered at my November 20th blog post, great intentions were had and great intentions went awry. lol! I had so many wonderful ideas of how much I would get done during my Thanksgiving break from work. I was hosting 17 family members for Thanksgiving dinner plus had 6 staying at my house for five days but I was going to be productive when kids were watching movies or after the little ones had gone to bed. #delusionalmuch lol! I have always been a dreamer! But, I had a blast settling in to my role as an aunt, a sister and a daughter and wouldn't trade it for anything.
so, on to the cards! A Muse Studio has this WONDERFUL gingerbread house tag die that is 2 1/2" by 2 1/2". It makes fantastic tags for home-made treats but it also makes a wonderful addition to a Christmas card.
I saw a card in a British stamp magazine with a decorated gingerbread house card and it clicked - I could do the same thing with the small scalloped border die and the gingerbread house tag die. And, here's the result!
Isn't it sweet and pretty?! I love the treescapes die behind the house.
And, here's a little tiny bit of fun for the inside! Love the Christmas in Our Town stamp set!
To make your pretty gingerbread cottage, cut a gingerbread house out of cocoa cardstock.
Cut the small scalloped border die out of cocoa cardstock as well.
Layer the scalloped die on the roof edge and trim.
Overlap the second piece and trim.
Use your Signo white gel pen and add some scribbles and dots and outline the scallops and you can even add some snow to the chimney. Isn't that fun! (wouldn't it be great if you could see it clearly?! But, I'm the mistress of the blurry photos #learnhowtotakeadecentpicture) lol!
My class peeps made doors and windows and used the leftover bits of scallops for awnings and valences. Very clever.
Order by December 17th if you want any goodies because the A Muse HQ is moving across country and shipping will be delayed until January when they're up and running again.
