Festive Girlfriend! Christmas Step Card with Clear Cardstock Overlay

A step card with a clear cardstock overlay?! Be still my heart! I just love how this card came out. It features the Festive Girlfriend image and die cut as well as the Big Numbers die set and the stitched circles. Isn't this fun!  And, don't you love the mix of the vanilla, cherry, silver stars and candy cane striped cardstock!
Here's a side view so you can see the step layer. The stamping on front and back is with the metallic silver Staz-on Ink. It's perfect for the clear cardstock because it won't smear and dries quickly. It works on glass and metal and paper too! And, do you see the polka dots on her dress? You can easily make those with the Copic Blender Marker which is actually a color remover. Color the dress solid and then use the "0" marker bullet tip to press against the coloring to create the polka dot! So fun! And, if you wanted to add some shimmer, the wink of stella shimmer pen is a great way to add that element.
Here's a view of the back. The strips of cherry on front and back cover the adhesive. And, do you see the back of the festive girlfriend is blank? I actually cut two die-cuts for the image. One to stamp and color on and one to cover the back. Copics bleed through - which gives them great coverage but I didn't want that to be the view from the back so layered it on a vanilla die cut and voila!

I hope you try one of these layered step cards. They are so awesome and so fun to make!
