Shimmer Chalks and Masking - Circus Birthday

Today's card highlights coloring with shimmer chalks. Chalks are one of the most economical ways to get started with coloring because they last forever and they're so easy to use!!! You can color with the poms, use a dove blender, do the chalk popping technique with versamark and more. This card shows straight-forward coloring with chalks.
The a muse studio shimmer chalks were used to create the circus ground for the elephant as well as all the coloring from the elephant to the balloon. You can pick chalks that coordinate well with your cardstock (May spotlight paper pack) and start coloring away! This was all done with a clip and a pom. If you're worried about going "outside the lines", don't be. Chalks are so forgiving! You can use a white eraser to clean up your image. easy peasy! And, the shimmer chalks give it a nice subtle sparkly finish which is nice. Some cherry twinkle stickers were added to finish off the look.
Oh - and if you look at the a muse stamp set, Under the Big Top, you might notice that the elephant is not holding the balloon. I created a post-it note mask and placed it over top of the elephant and then stamped the balloon. Pull off the mask and voilĂ  the elephant is holding the balloon! It's an easy way to add more stamps to a design! Here's a tutorial on masking with splash (it's the same idea - just splashing ink instead of stamping another image): http://amethystcat.blogspot.com/2012/09/tutorial-splash-holly-jolly-christmas.html
Here's the inside - simple and sweet. :)

Fun card Seleise! I can't recall the last time I colored with chalk, I'm going to have to pull mine out. Thanks for the inspiration!

Love your chalk colored card - I forget about mine - maybe I need to put them out so I will remember to use them. Great card.
