A1 Cards: Mini Envelope Christmas Card

Whew - Can you say overcommitted? But, it's all good and it's all fun and unfortunately, the blog posting suffers a bit when I'm crazy busy. My apologies. But, I'm back and should be on track for a week or two. :)

I had my class on Monday night and it was a "study in A1 cards" because I've never really made many of that size and I guess it was just time as I was in an A1 type mood. :)  And, guess what? I LOVED making them. It's a great size.!

So, what is an A1 card. It's finished size is 3-1/2" X 4 -7/8". You can fold it either way but this one happens to be 7 inches by 4 7/8", scored and folded in half at 3 1/2 inches.

The mini  envelope die was the perfect size for this element on this card. It's got a piece of Twas the Night cardstock inside to look like a written note.  I got this fabulous idea from Angela Kelley. You should check out her blog - she's got awesome ideas!

The petite buttercup flower was inked in cocoa ink and the outside was sponged in currant ink. I love the two tone look, don't you? The fern envelope was inked in fern ink and the sentiment was stamped in currant ink.

The swirlie design on the currant cardstock layer is from the Winter Stag set. It's stamped in currant ink on the currant cardstock. It's really a pretty look. The gold border image is also from Winter Stag. It was stamped in versamark and covered with a muse studio gold embossing powder. It's a burnished, deep gold rather than a bright shiny gold and I think it's awesome! Look at how different this card looks from the one in the previous post that also uses the same set. I love that about stamping. Everyone looks at a stamp and set differently.

Do you recognize the paper pack? It is the study hall pack from September. Currant, Cocoa and Fern. Aren't those great colors together? I liked them so much that I just ordered more. The card base is vanilla.                                                                                                                                                                       So what do you think? I plan to make some more of these as maybe my Christmas card will be A1 size this year. :)

Have a wonderfully creative day!

I totally agree, Seleise--that A1 size is great, especially for some of the smaller A|S images. Very sweet card, love the tiny envelope... thanks for sharing!

lol...just made an A1 card yesterday, as I needed something 'just the right size' to fit in a little handmade box. Great job, my friend! Thanks for the inspiration - hope things are slowing down a bit for you! Hugs...
