For The Girls

Oh my gosh - this is funny. I was putting up pics at 2 a.m. to post later and apparently posted this (two pics and no text!) instead of saving it. ah - never try to update your blog when you're tired. lol! So, I'll just leave it simple. enjoy!
Both are The Angel Company (TAC) stamps. One is a seminar set and one is a retired set and I just love them so can't stop using them!

Sending a Latte...

I'm a dork! I took a pic of the outside of this card and then forgot to take a pic of the inside which finishes the sentiment. :) So, it says on the outside (as you can see...)"Sending a Latte" and on the inside "warm thank yous!" Card parts: Sending a Latte and Skinny Birds TAC stamp sets, White Ultrasmooth cardstock, Large Labels Nestabilities

I love all the wonderful nestabilities shapes. This is Large Labels. Some people have a ticket corner punch but I can never seem to get it even on all four sides so this set of nesties made it way easier for me. :)

On a non-stamping note, we are having a GORGEOUS spring day in Kansas. I'm looking at it from inside my cubicle but lovely it is!!

April Card Class - Reece SWIC

What a fun evening! My card class ladies left a couple of hours ago and it was great to laugh and chitchat and be creative together! I love hanging out with them! I really worked them tonight as we did scoring and scor-bugging and cut shapes with nesties and set eyelets on vellum with the crop-a-dile and we embossed on vellum too. it wass crazy fun! Reece is on sale this month as a buy 1, get 1 free paper pack so I had fun challenging myself to use Reece with Spring cards as I normally think of this paper as a Christmas paper pack. It was a lot of fun to look at it in a new way. How do you think I did? Scoring can add so much to a card when you're working with solid colored cardstocks. Add the texture made by the scor-bug and you've got even more ways to enhance the solid cardstock to make an interesting background paper. Nestabilities Labels 4 provide the shapes for rest of the pieces on the card. A white souffle gel pen adds some visual interest around the largest label shape on the inside of the card. And, tie a little floss around ribbon and you've got another special touch to the card. Isn't that wonderful?
How about some embossing on vellum? Isn't this pretty? I had some vanilla scented embossing powder so it smells as good as it looks! It's nice to have that extra little touch. Eyelets set with the crop-a-dile hold the vellum to the distressed cardstock. Versamark Dazzle brings a very subtle shimmer to the watermark images on the Kraft cardstock. And, a little jute ties it all together. love that touch, don't you?!!!
This Mother's Day card features chalk popping, nesties and ink smooshing on glossy cardstock! I got that background idea from Cardmaker magazine. What a wonderful magazine! The next card lay-out is from there too! It was a big hit with the gals (they cursed me a little too but all in fun (or mostly - lol!). :)
Make four of your little elements and pop the 4th on the inside of the card - a little extra surprise for the person who receives the card. Isn't that fun?
And, last but certainly not least - the card that is least like my normal style and yet, I really like how it came out. I should do layering of stamps more often. This uses the script background, wishing happiness and seeds of blessings - all from The Angel Company. The Marvy flower punches, a color duster, nestabilities Labels 4 and the scor-pal bring this card to life.
Can you see how the sentiment from seeds of blessings is nestled in the opening created by the nestie? I just love this card design which as I mentioned earlier was in the latest issue of Cardmaker Magazine. And, did you catch the sparkle here and there? That was made with a flower from Simply Divine which was stamped using the essential glue pad and glitter was sprinkled over the top. love that "glue" stamping medium!

So, lots of different tools used tonight but absolutely no coloring. It was really fun to put it all together! Looking forward to next month's class! Happy Stamping!

Doodle Bugs! Doodle Bugs! Everywhere!

Here's some Doodle Bug fun for the day. Such a fun stamp set and a great way to add a little color to a thank you card. Don't you love how the nestabilities labels one and large labels show off the image? And, it may be a little tricky to see but did you catch the scor-pal backgrounds? What do you think? (oops - sorry for the blurry photo!)

Wonder and Joy Thank you!

I love, love, love the Wonder and Joy stamp set. I think this is a darling image and perfect for a thank you card or a just because card or a birthday card or to put on the side of a play date scrapbook page - you get the idea - very versatile set. It's colored with prismacolor pencils and goo gone - my favorite coloring combo! Check out the shimmers in the hair and the scored background - simple things that can add some interest to the card.
Card parts: white ultrasmooth and black cardstock, scor-pal, TAC Wonder and Joy and TAC Tag Tidbits, DCVW paper, prismacolor pencils, stardust clear gelly pen, grey tombow marker and scalloped scissors.

What do you think? Happy Easter and Happy Stamping!
