Fairy Birthday - Copics and Shimmer

First, let me say what's on my heart this morning: GO CATS!!! woo hoo!! Instant Classic basketball game last night! Yep. I bleed purple! EMAW!!!

Now, on to my first adventure with Copic markers. My friend, Heather, got a couple of sets so she let us try them out. Wow - I can see why everyone wants them. I didn't do much blending with this image from TAC's Fairy Birthday because I liked her light and airy but I colored some others and wowza - amazing blending and I felt like an "artiste". I added a little shimmer to her wings, her hair and her dress. I love the stardust clear gelly pen for that effect. I shot this in the window light and it really caught the hair shimmer - it wasn't quite this noticeable in "real life". LOL! Large labels nestabilities and a little bling in the corners finished off the sweet birthday card. What do you think?

Happy Stamping and Go Cats!!!

Amberley Grace

I'm walking through the TAC papers with my class. Tonight we made 4 cards with the Amberley Grace paper paper. Actually with one pack of Amberley Grace paper, one pack of of Amberley Grace cardstock, 1 pack of ivory cardstock and a little bit of Kraft, you can make 48 cards. That's around 50 cents per card and you have a whole bunch of supplies left over so you could make even more with the tags and pieces. Here's the selection:Stamps: skinny birds, simply divine and turquoise scrappers floss

just because, watercolor plants, swirlies, niagara mist versamagic ink

Wonder and Joy, watercolor pencils, dove blender pen and stardust clear gel pen (see the shimmer in the hair - I learned this from my friend, Vicki! Doesn't it make the hair look sunkissed? I love it!

And, you may remember this one from my last post hedgehog halloween, prismacolor pencils, goo gone, grey tombow marker

I think it's neat to see the variety you can get from one paper pack. What do you think?

Easter Angel Art Blog Hop

I just love Blog Hops!!! And, an Easter one!!! What could be better?!! I didn't get Christmas cards out and then didn't get Valentine's Day cards made either so now I'm going to shoot for Easter cards! I might end up sending 4th of July cards but for right now, I'm still hopeful! LOL! So, to get inspired, I joined the Paper Wings March Easter Angel Art Blog Hop. I've got links to the other blogs after the photos so be sure to check out all the fabulous creations! They should all be posted after 8 p.m. Central Time (by the way, is anyone else missing that hour we lost last night? waahhh!)

Here's the first card. I wish you could see the sparkly detail the stickles add to the card. I love sparkly details, don't you?
(card parts: white ultrasmooth, DCVW, TAC Vintage Farm Tags stamp set, TAC I Love Easter stamp set, Ink: Brilliance Jewel Tones and Versamagic Seashore Dewdrops, Crystal Stickles and Scrappers Floss: White, Lavender and Turquoise )

Here's a close-up of the image so you can see the scrappers floss detail. It's three pieces of scrappers floss, cut to equal lengths, tied through the hole in the tag and then each side (3 pieces) was curled at the same time on a piercing tool, pulled off and then separated so the loops are even. I love curling scrappers floss! This is sneak peek of a card we're doing in my card class this month and it fit the theme so I'm sharing it early: Amberley Grace paper, Hedgehog Halloween and Nestabilities Labels 4 - what do you think?!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and now please go visit the other Angel Art "hoppers" listed below and see their fabulous creations:

Scor-pal Sympathy

What a busy time! I thought it would slow down after the fall craft fair season but life has just been stuck in high gear! Don't get me wrong - not complaining - just need to figure out how to get my blog updated more regularly. :) I was out of town all this week at a conference and ended up working all last week-end on a big project at work so couldn't pre-schedule posts. So, please forgive me and stick with me as I will figure out a plan and get back to posting more regularly. :)

So, now, on to the important stuff... The scor-pal lets you make the most wonderful background designs, especially on white-core paper. Score on the diagonal and then take an emery board or a sanding block and go over the raised part of the score lines - fabulous! I think it's the perfect background for this sympathy card and it carries a big "wow" without a lot of work. And, don't you like the accent holes created by the crop-a-dile (or you could use any hole-punch). simple but neat!
Card supplies: Scor-pal, DCVW cardstock, White ultrasmooth cardstock, Black cardstock, TAC Gerbera Daisy, Crop-a-dile

Happy Stamping!
