Angel Art Blog Hop - Valentine's Day Creations!

You're so going to want to check out all the wonderful Valentine's Day ideas and cards featured in this Angel Art Valentine's Day blog hop! These super talented gals have come up with some fabulous ideas! The links are at the end of the post so be sure to read to the end.

My project is gate-fold card featuring the TAC Stamp Set, I Heart You. This is a great set with hearts and sayings that could be used for cards and scrapbook pages for wedding, anniversary, birthday and baby and of course, Valentines too! What is a gate-fold card? It's where the card opens like a gate to a garden with the opening in the center. This is a great project for the scor-pal because gate-folds are SUPER EASY to make with it. You take a 5.5" X 8.5" piece of cardstock and lay the 8.5" part at the top of the scor-pal and score at the 2 dots as indicated below.(note: I'm using olive green for the gatefold instruction pics so you can see the scored lines a little easier)
After making the gatefold base, you can decide how you want to decorate it. I used toile pink and belle rose palette inks to sponge a background on white bazzill. The heart border, hearts and sentiment were stamped with bordeaux palette ink. Isn't it pretty on top of the sponged background? This piece was layered on grey bazzill onto the black bazzill card base. After making the flap, I decided to make a "hook" to hold the flaps shut on the card front but I didn't want to add ribbon or a photo turn or anything so I stamped a heart, put it on a pop dot and attached it on the other side of the "gate." I think it makes a great catch, don't you? Finally, with a black card base, I wanted to make it easier to add a note inside so on my white insert piece, I added a bit of sponging and another heart. I hope you'll give a gate-fold card a try if you've never made one. The ladies in my January class got hooked after trying this one! Thanks for popping by and now, please take a few minutes to check out the other angel art Valentine's projects:

Happy Birthday Tag Card

Here's a quick and easy Happy Birthday Card! It could be used for a guy or a gal so it's versatile! The tag image was stamped again on the stardust "scrap" piece and the happy birthday was cut out, shimmered up and placed with pop dots over the same spot on the tag. It's a great way to bring focal attention to a certain part of a stamped image.
Supplies: 9" X 8" stardust cardstock, TAC Juliette SWIC paper, pop dots, TAC Joyful Tags, TAC Edge Designs, Palette Violette Ink, Stardust Clear Gelly Pen, brown pen and plastic canvas (to make evenly spaced dots)
