Beautiful birthday cards!

Have I told you how wonderful you are? No really, I mean it! All the great comments and all the happy birthday wishes in e-mails, texts, voicemails and cards. You are awesome! (you know who you are!) Thank you sooo much!

I received some fabulous birthday cards this year. I got some great talking and singing cards from my non-card-making friends that were so fun. (one of the naughtiest was from my soon to be 94-year-young friends! - thanks, Trouble!) But, I also got some downright FABULOUS cards from my card-making friends and I have to share them with you!!

Here are the fabulous birthday cards I received from some of the ladies that come to my card class. Aren't they great?!!! I just love them!!! Thanks, Sue, Deb, Vicki and Teresa!!!

My mom made me this super sweet card with beautiful shimmery flowers. My mom is the one who started me on the stamping path. She didn't know what she was starting... right, Mom? hee hee! LOVE YOU!!!

And, I'm blessed to be part of a super fabulous group of blogging friends, my SBS4 sisters. Here are the cards I got from them (and one valentine too). Aren't these cards beautiful?!! Thank you so much, Deb, Chris, Sparkle and Marcia!!!

Thank you to everyone for the joy and creativity and thoughtfulness you shared with me! Happy Stamping!!!

Oh My Gosh!!!! I WON!!!!!

I can't believe it but I'm super excited! The Angel Company has a contest each month for demonstrators and I've submitted a couple of times and didn't win. That's ok because the Angels that did win had fabulous submissions. I didn't give up though and this month - I WON!!! Woo hoo!!! ok - I've tooted my own horn quite enough but this is the card that won. It's also on TAC's website (you've got to check out the other contest winners. Beautiful and creative projects.

I love the simplicity of the Butterfly Bits stamp set with Linear sentiments layered over the top on the outside and ordinary greetings on the inside. And, the swimming pool paper posies are so fun for a finished effect. (love those little paper flowers!)

The other card I made I really liked but then I saw the winners of the contest and wowza - amazing projects that blew my simple card out of the water! Love what they did!!! This card is fun because I made my own background with the scor-pal and the flower from circle sentiments. I used the Coluzzle file folder template to make the pocket and the mega scalloped circle punch to make the little friendship tags. Seeds of Blessings is the set with the great friendship sayings. Don't you love the pink and black?! And, did you notice the angel from Just Dream popping into a card again. Love the angels!!!

ok - it's time to float down from my cloud of happiness in the sky. Thanks for putting up with my excited gushing!!!

February Angel Art Challenge: Friendship

I am loving these blog hops that some great TAC Angels are putting together. In honor of National Friendship Month, the February Angel Art Challenge is a blog hop featuring TAC stamp sets and a friendship theme. What could be better?

I've got 3 projects for the hop. The first friendship card is made from my favorite color - purple! This is a super quick card and the photo doesn't do it justice. The purple of the flower is a shimmery pearlescent purple brilliance ink which is paired with viridian leaf palette ink and a versamarked background on bazzill monochromatic purples. I love this TAC stamp set, Treasure It!

The second card is a super fun "Hey Chick" card that shows off a fun little set with fun little sayings. And, how about some yellow fun flock to show off the little chicks?

Here's a close-up of the flock. How cute is this? My class really liked this card. They're such a fun group!

And, the third and final friendship project for the challenge is my first coffee filter book. I read about the idea on the Scrapbook-Crazy blog (what fun ideas!). I used the retired Bella Flor paper and covered 3 coffee filters. Then, cut just slightly smaller tags. It's embellished with the Marvy Flower punches (both Extra Jumbo and Super Jumbo) and dew drops and ribbon and stickles and ... :) Here are a couple of pages! What do you think?

The other challenge participants are:
Stacy
Jen
Bridgett
Christina
Gloria
Melisa
Laurie
Debra
Diana

Thanks for blurfing by. I hope you now go visit the other talented Angel's blogs and see how they interpreted the Friendship challenge. You won't be disappointed! Happy Stamping!!!

A quick and simple card!

Here's a quick card that you could use for a sympathy or thinking of you or get well or whatever. I put a sympathy sentiment on the inside and mailed it off today.

Cream, black and purple layers with a simple Love and Laughter tree in black ink (palette noir - love this ink!!!) give off a soothing feeling. It's layered on a cuttlebug background and pulled together with a scalloped punched circle and a bit of sheer lavendar ribbon. A quick and simple card!

Check back on Monday for an Angel Art Challenge post! Happy Stamping and Go Cats!!!

Sympathy and Thinking of You Cards

It seems that with the circle of life there's always a need for sympathy and thinking of you cards. For some reason I almost always turn to flowers and trees for these types of cards. You can make them soft and soothing and put sentiments over them or beside them or on the inside. I think about the cards that people sent after my dad died. They were beautiful and touching and filled with simple messages of hope and encouragement. Each card meant so much and my mom turned to them several times in the months afterwards. A card truly can touch the heart.
