Recipe card

We did a recipe card exchange at our local TAC Christmas party. I always love getting new recipes and love seeing how people decorate their recipe cards. This is what I came up with. I used Swirlies, Welcome Home and the new No Place Like Home set. I finished it off with a bazzill bitty blossom and a dewdrop. And, the recipe is super easy and super yummy! Enjoy!!!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!! I hope you have a wonderful day full of many blessings, happy times with friends and family and much laughter!

I will be spending the day with family and when they all leave, my mom and I will play Rummikub and Scrabble and other wonderful board games. There will probably be some stamping too. Ironically, I have not made my Christmas cards yet but will try to beat February when I sent them out last year...LOL!

So, once again, Merry Christmas to you and yours!

A Christmas card and craft show wrap up

Another Christmas card! I think I'm up to 7 or 8 now. ridiculous because Christmas is just around the corner. sigh. But, last year I sent cards in February and friends wondered if they were late for the year before or early for this year so really...I'm covered until February again. right?! hee hee!

So, back to the card...this is inspired by one of Heather's Christmas card designs. Hers used Ready Set Snow and was on lavendar - super cute. Mine uses Holly Swirls and is on bazzill blues monochromatics. Crystal stickles add the shimmer to the design. Love the stickles!

Last week-end, Debi and I worked the booth for the Holiday Craft Fair at Abilene for ourselves and two friends, Vicki and Dona. Our friend, Heather, had her button jewelry booth right behind our booth. We had a really good time! Thank you to all who stopped by our booths in Abilene in December and in Manhattan in November!!! We hope to be there again next year!

Tea bag folding - love this card!!!

ok - I'm totally new to Tea Bag folding. In fact, I saw the idea in the latest Paper Creations magazine and still didn't know it was tea bag folding so that shows you how clueless I was (thanks, Debi, for cluing me in!). Just had to try it though because it reminded me of a quilt block and since I haven't taken time to sew in a really long time, I figured this would fill a void (kind of - hee hee!). I experimented and played with different papers. I did a lovely folded design out of TAC Catelynne paper (currently buy 1, get 1 free!) and gave it to my mom. (no pic!) It was so pretty but kind of bulky. So, then, I did one out of TAC Just Like Dad paper and really liked it but it didn't have as much of a Christmasy feel as I wanted.

So...what to use, what to use... Aha! My friend, Heather, gave a bunch of us some wonderful vellum so I used that and loved it!!! So, here's the tea bag folded card that I made with my class last night. They really liked it too. I think it would also be pretty with brilliance moonlight white snowflakes stamped on the vellum before it was folded but didn't want to add that drying time to the class process with all the folding. So, some brilliance starlight silver TAC snowflakes finished out the card on bazzill monochromatic reds. And, a Level A hostess set, "Just For You" provides the sentiment on the inside.

What do you think?

bad blogger

hey all - I will report in again soon but have been swamped since Thanksgiving. I had a blast with family and did lots of baking and crafting. Since then, I've developed a monster of a cold and am trying to get ready for a craft fair so it's been a challenge. But, no worries. I'll finish up some projects and post again soon. Hope you're happy and well!

to tide you over until my next blog post, here's a pic of the tags and cards I did with my November class. I think they had fun. I know I did!

happy stamping!
