Paper Bag Album - Buttons and Bows Sneak Peek!

This is my first "on my own" paperbag album. I just love how it came out!!! I used TAC's retired Bella Flor paper (isn't it pretty?!). You can still pick some up for only $10! That's the special price until the paper is gone. I'll miss it because it's so cheery!

So, back to the paper bag album. It's got pockets and dew drops and tags and all kinds of special places to put tags, pics and journal about your favorite events and people. :)

There may be more sneak peeks as the week goes along. Time will tell.

The Morning Buzz and Random Stamp Challenge

One of my favorite new stamp sets is a Level B hostess set "The Morning Buzz". I love the coffee cups and coffee beans. The background is stamped in versamark on Kraft. Wow, I had never used that on Kraft and now it's my new favorite paper for versamark watermarks!!!

You can get this set with a $250 party! so fun! Send me an e-mail, if you're interested. :) And, TAC just extended double dips through December 3rd! This is where you get twice as many hostess sets and 1/2 priced items at the different hostess club levels!!!! Awesome!!!

Michelle M. selected me to do the random stamp challenge that Barb Foster started. You should visit both of these ladies blogs as they do super neat things! And, you'll have to check back so you can see to whom I sent the next random image!

Here's the card I made with the images Michelle sent. What a sweet little image!

I'm working on things for an upcoming craft fair, Buttons and Bows, on November 8th in Manhattan, KS, so I need to get back to the creative corner of my living room. I may do some previews in the next week or two. I'm having lots of fun trying new things!

Too Cute to Spook!

Have you tried the spiral pop up cards?
Splitcoast stampers has a tutorial and it's ever so fun! I did this Halloween card with my October card class. It was a big hit. I can't wait to do some Christmas cards with this technique too. fun, fun! Glitter Goblins and Trick or Treaters are the two sets used. The orange bazzill monochromatic pack provides the colors and the scor-pal and giga scallop and mega circle punches provide the shape. Some orange scrappers floss and a black button finish it off.

If you have some time, hope you give this a try. It's a really fun card!

Coluzzle

I just love all the different shapes you can make with the coluzzle. You can do circles and squares and ovals and rectangles and so much more. The coluzzle takes up so little space to store and with the range of lines to cut, you can almost always find a size that fits the image you have. Here are two friendship cards that show two different templates: circle and oval. The first is fun because a scalloped punch is layered on the card base and then the circle is cut with the coluzzle and an image is stamped in the "window". The nice thing is that if this were a scrapbook page, you could put the "window" anywhere on the page because you're not limited to the reach of a punch.

You may now be asking yourself - hasn't she written before that she's a punch-a-holic? Yep, it's true! I am! And, yes, I have circles and oval punches because they're handy to have too! But, sometimes it's just so wonderful to not carry all the punches and such to crops and classes as the coluzzle templates are soooo light and easy to pack because the templates are flat. What is a coluzzle? Well, it's a cutting system using a nested template, a coluzzle cutting mat and a coluzzle swivel knife . Here's what the small circle template looks like. The largest circle you can cut with this is approximately 4.5 inches.
There is a larger nested circle coluzzle that cuts circles up to 8.5 inches. The awesome thing is that if you cut a circle from each one, you can make an 1/8" border. Or, if you cut two corresponding circles from the same template, you get a quarter of an inch border as with the oval friendship card below.

So, if you have a cutting system you prefer, you're set. But, if you're looking for something that will give you a lot of options without taking a lot of room, the coluzzle might just be the way to go.

Fall Harvest and Church Bazaar gift items

I spent the week-end with my youngest niece and nephew so my sister and her husband could work farm ground. I had a blast. The kiddos helped me and my sis with a bunch of projects, including some items for my sister's church bazaar (or "church a czar" as my 3 year old niece called it!).Here are two of the altered items we made using the Bella Flor paper which is discontinued but TAC is selling it for half price (only $10!) until it's gone. I love this cheery paper!!!

Also, I love the new Fall Supplement stamps. The Fall Harvest stamp set is too cute. Here's the little girl holding the sunflower which I've paper pieced with Willoughby paper for a Willoughby swap. The sentiment is from Seeds of Blessing - a great set with many different ways to express your feelings on friendship. The card is finished off with a grey marker under the feet of the little girl to "ground" her and a couple of scor-pal lines to add a simple raised effect. I love this new paper line. Isn't it pretty?! I think this stamp set is perfect for paper piecing, don't you? I can't wait to color it too though and maybe then it will be my favorite to color too. hee hee! I used Goo Gone and Prismacolor pencils to color the sunflower and the hair. Love that technique! I'm still a novice when it comes to coloring but hopefully I'm improving. :)

Time to unpack my stamping stuff! Happy Stamping!
