Love & Laughter

How about a little pink on pink for a card? I love the layered scalloped punches. So fun and so much "punch" with so little effort. I know, bad pun - but I couldn't resist! hee hee! The Love & Laughter set is so pretty. I love the three trees that are choices for so many different cards. And, the Cute Card Thursday challenge this week was for Pretty in Pink so I shared this card there too. You should check it out - beautiful cards - great design team!

Last week-end I went to a stamping retreat with the team of TAC angels that I'm on. What a super week-end! We spent the time at a beautiful spot by the lake in the flint hills and we each brought a project for the others on the team to make. Wow - such creative projects and such great fun! We laughed and carried on and just enjoyed our love of paper crafting. I can't believe I went so long without all of these wonderfully creative people in my life. Here's my project from the week-end, a mini composition journal. I used the Genevieve paper collection to cover it and added some layers with our new flower punches. I love this because teals and purples are my favorite colors!

So 20 minutes after getting home from the stamping retreat last Sunday, friends invited me to join them on an apple-picking trip at my sister and brother-in-law's orchard. I was one tired puppy but had to go so I could see the family and spend time with my good friends. It was so fun! This is my youngest niece with one of the apples that she picked. I think she's surveying her "land" and her friends. :)

Then, after all that I wanted to collapse but instead I spent the week getting ready for my littlest niece and nephew to come visit and I had stamping things every night after working all day (it's a busy time!) so it was a challenge. I tried to make my home toddler proof but found that I failed miserably. Can you ever make any place toddler proof? hee hee! Ah well, it gave Grandma lots of challenges while my sister and I went to a K-State football game on Saturday! But, the important thing is she still loves us and hopefully will be up for it again. She's a great mom! And we had a lot of fun through the week-end so it was all worth it! Good times. So, I apologize for taking so long to get stuff up but it may be crazy all through the fall. :)

It's worth all the busy times though to have the giggles and laughter and companionship of good friends and family. Happy Stamping!

A quick and simple Happy Birthday!

Here's a quick, simple birthday card. It takes a card base (I used Kraft - love that paper!), 1 stamp, 2 punches and a ribbon. How's that for easy?! The celebration time stamp set is wonderful with images that fit perfectly in the 1 1/2" punch. The round layered on the scalloped square punch is just kind of fun. Put your punch outs together, add a ribbon and bam - quick card. It looks really good with crystal lacquer on the image too. fun!

I'm off to stamp, stamp, stamp! Happy stamping!

Some Christmas Joy and a happy little Bee!

Recently you saw a black and white version of this JOY stamp from the Joy of Christmas stamp set. I really like this stamp and had a Christmas swap to fill so used it again but this time with dark green, kraft and navy. I love embossing in silver with this set. I don't know why but I do. :) The circle detail is done with plastic canvas and the wonderful white x-treme gel pen. Some dew drops and ribbon finish it off.

And, guess what - I knew I had more cards from my SBS4 sisters. Here's the pic. Aren't they wonderful cards?!!! I just love them and love being in this group. I need to get my August cards out the door before August is over! :) Thanks, ladies!!!

One more thing, I had my monthly card class tonight. I just loved the cards we made - I know - not very modest but these cards just made me happy.

Here's one of them - a happy little birthday card with a wittle bug stamp set. It is just too cute!!! The Happy Birthday message is from Everyday Events (another great stamp set). My friend, Sue, did a better bee trail than I did so I'm going to steal her design for my future versions of this card. TFS, Sue! :) It was great fun to be with my gals! Thanks, too, to Sharon and Heather for their help in the design process on this card!

Happy Stamping!!

With Sympathy

Whew! I just got a big website project mostly done and now I can get back to stamping (without feeling guilty about it! - hee hee!). I made this card earlier this summer as a friend had placed an order for sympathy cards. I love mixing floral sets with the sympathy sentiments from TAC. This features one of my favorite stamp sets, Simply Divine, with our wonderful sympathy set, With Sympathy . I think the black and cream create the perfect base for a sympathy card and the red gives it just the right splash of color without being inappropriate for the occasion. I like how the black buttons finish it off. And, did you notice the scoring at top? Simple little details enhance a card design.

On a completely different note, Chris is offering blog candy. You should drop by and see her creativity at work on her blog. She is a talented lady and one of my SBS4 sisters!
