A scripty angel

For TAC seminar, we each made dream journals with our angel seminar set. I love these angels and was sooooooo happy to see them in the catalog. And, check this out, there's a limited edition small set that is available until August 15th! I love them big and small!!! Here's my journal:

I loved the script background with the Just Dream stamp set so turned around and used it for a swap card in July. Both feature the same Uptown Girl paper (love this paper!) and the script. I used Bordeaux Palette ink on the journal with Noir palette scripty background. A little bling finished off the book.

As you can see on the card, I reversed that out and used Belle Rose Palette for the script with a Noir angel. It's finished off with some Stardust glittering gel pen (pink) accents. Use the round plastic canvas as a template to create some neat, evenly spaced visual interest spots. Some dew drops add an extra splash of pink to the front of the card.

There are some neat specials going on in August. There's a woodrowe kit special (love this kit!). There's a limited edition Just Dream stamp set and there are great TAC sign up specials! Oh, and don't forget the stamp of the month and did I mention the surprise boxes ($75 for $150 of discontinued product!!!)...awesome!!! So many specials, so little time... :) Here's a link to all of the promos for August. Let me know if you're interested in any. Happy Stamping!

3 X 3's - Love these little cards!

Why have I not made these before? In July, I made my first 3 X 3 cards with matching envelopes using the scor-pal instructions. I love them!!! You may recall that you saw my first one on the Christmas in July post. So fun!

Start with a 6" X 3" piece of cardstock - fold in half and bam - cute little enclosure card or pick-me-up card or whatever. love it!!! These were all super easy. Take the new Always Remember TAC stamp set and punch out a square around the square image. And, how awesome does red and black look on the kraft cardstock? fabulous!!! The other two cards feature the souffle gel pens on navy and kraft cardstock. The TAC Celebration Time stamp set finishes it off perfectly. Love this set! The 1 1/2" circle punch perfectly frames these delightful circle designs.

This card set features the present from Mini Occasions, stardust glittering gel pens and the words from Linear Sentiments. Love that set too! What a cute, fun and quick card!

Last but not least, I received this wonderful blog award from a super talented and neat lady, Barb! You should definitely visit her blog because I'm always inspired when I drop in! Thanks, Barb!

An 'udder Birthday - more fun!

Oh my gosh - where has the time gone? I've tried for 3 days to finish a post but kept getting interrupted. I took some pics of some of my latest cards but haven't had a chance to download them so here are two summery cards created earlier this year that are made with An 'udder Birthday with different "looks" for the same image. They share a circle design but the Kaleidescope Girlz paper is highlighted in one and the image colored in Stardust glittering gels is the highlight of the other. I think the addition of the Life is Short stamp set is perfect with this image. :) Hope you're all finding time to kick back and relax this summer. I'm hoping to find some of that time too before the season is over. :) Happy Stamping!

July Card Class

Christmas in July!

What a fun idea! I've used the JOY card for several things this month and I'm going to make up the rest to have for my Christmas card stash. I just love the elegance of red, black and white together. I used the new Joy of Christmas stamp set and embossed it in silver. The white piece is punched with the bind-it-all. I love using that for a design element.

In addition to the full-sized Christmas card. We made this cute little 3X3 card with Christmas Circles. I hadn't made them before this week-end and now I'm on a kick. And this Christmas Circles set is just awesome! Not only is it great for a quick and easy card but it's listed in the catalog with the punches that coordinate with the size of the circles in the stamp set. For example the 2 1/2 inch circle punch will fit around the large image and the 1 1/2 inch circle will fit around the smaller image. We used the scor-pal to make the envelope and it was soooo easy!

Finally, we made this birthday card with the new Linear Sentiments stamp set. It's such a handy set because with just a little paper (Just Like Dad is pictured here - 36 pages of 8X8 paper - perfect!), you can have a quick and fast birthday card or thank you card or congratulations card or... so many more. And, the present is from Mini Occasions. Such a cute set that is so useful in so many ways! And the envelope is made with the same paper folded with the directions that my SBS4 and TAC buddy, Alison, listed on her blog. Thanks, Alison, for sharing this. You start with an 8X8 piece of paper and finish with an A2 envelope. It goes together so quickly and easily!!!

Finally, I'd like to share the fabulous cards that were "rained" on me this month by my SBS4 sisters. How cute are these great cards? I love them all!!! I need to get my July cards in the mail. These ladies are so talented and I encourage you to visit their blogs which are listed on the right side of my blog. I'm so glad I've gotten to know them through their blogs!

Using punches in a different way

If you're like me, you have a TON of punches or gadgets. I admit it. I'm a PUNCH-A-HOLIC! It's true and I don't see it as an addiction that I want to beat. hee hee! However, I sometimes get in a rut and don't think about other ways to use those punches. So, here are a couple of cards that, for me, were thinking "outside of the box." I know there are many of you who probably have done this a lot but to me, it was new and fun. With this card, I used the giga merchandise tag turned on its side and added "hello" from Trendy Greetings. The flower is from spring dream and is colored with prisma color pencils. The background is a stamp from simply divine which is stamped on the scarlet cardstock with versamark.

This card you've seen before but I wanted to show it again to highlight the punch rather than the paper piercing. The mini round tab punch and the glitter gel pens are fun additions to the mint and raspberry card and besides the glitter gels, a little "bling" finishes it off.

And, punches are perfect ways to make "windows" in cards by providing a connection from the inside of the card to the outside of the card. I really like this fun little happy birthday fish card that ties the brightly colored fish on the inside to the simple outside monochromatic fish and bubbles. Although this limited edition fish set is no longer available, you can get the full-sized fish in the fun fish stamp set and do the same thing with a bigger punch. The white fish on the brown cardstock are stamped with brilliance moonlight white ink and the multi-colored fish is stamped with the spectrum kaleidacolor ink. This window was made with a simple circle punch but you can use merchandise tags and shipping tags and squares and scallops and you name it. Experiment and have fun!

My challenge to you is to use something you have in a different way. If you send me a link to your design, I'll edit this post and add your link. Happy Stamping!
