My seminar swap

Here's the card front that I swapped at the TAC Seminar. I just love the different ways you can use this $5.95 Gerbera Daisy stamp. It can be used in a lot of "cute" cards as well as in more "somber" cards like this sympathy card. I used Landscape palette ink, naturals cardstock, black cardstock, cream ribbon and layered this element on a sanded, scored (with Scor-pal) Green #1 piece of DCWV cardstock. Peace is added from the tag tidbits stamp set. I love this set for adding a simple sentiment to a card.

This is a card that can be put together quickly and yet looks polished and conveys a quiet message.

The New Catalog - Woo hoo!!!

I have to tell you. I just love this catalog! There are so many neat kits and neat stamps and as I mentioned in the last post, my list of "wants" keeps growing and my pocketbook is "shrinking" just as I think about it. :)

I think the cover is just fabulous! It invites you to open it up and check out all the great stuff. The new GWPs are fab and the Go Abroad set is super AWESOME! I have a degree in French so this is right up my alley!

Email me and let me know if there's anything you can't live without and I'll help you get it.

I'm published!!!

Oh my gosh! I hope you don't mind if I toot my own horn for just a minute but I just got home from The Angel Company (TAC) seminar and I'm so excited! They did an open design call for this catalog and I had a card that was selected to be printed in the catalog!!! woo hoo! Here's my card.
It features the So Girly and Tag Tidbits stamp sets (both of which I've used several times on my blog). The So Girly image is paper pieced with Uptown Girl paper and is layered on matchmaker papers scored with the scor-pal and sanded to bring out the grid design. The coluzzle was the tool used to cut the oval. The TAC catalog features 5 basic card sketches for this catalog and has the number of the sketch by the card that was chosen. It's neat to see how many different ways a sketch can be interpreted. Anyway, I've never been published before and this really made my day!!! thanks for letting me share!

Seminar was a blast and it was great to laugh and create with so many wonderful angels. I enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people and it was a special treat to meet two of my SBS4 sisters, Diana and Rita W. They're such sweet ladies! And, it was wonderful to hang with my "peeps" as I haven't laughed so hard in a long time (or at least not since we last got together to stamp - ha!).

The new TAC catalog is fantastic! I really like the punch out mini albums! They're double-sided and can be put together in soooo many different combinations. I'll post some pics in a day or two after I've had some sleep. :) Oh, 1 more thing - there are SEVEN new punches!!! even Flowers!!!! woo hoo!!! I'm going to be so poor after getting everything I want. Thank goodness I have 7 months to shop with this catalog! :)

Cheers! and Happy Stamping!

The new catalog is coming...

I can't wait. The new catalog comes out in less than a week! Seminar is next week too! My first one and I'm super excited! I don't have my swaps done but that's ok - there's still time. LOL! :)

But, enough about that. Let's talk cards. I've had a lot of fun lately putting together a variety of cards and baby albums and such. good times. :)

Here are two cards with pics of their insides too. The golf set, FORE, has some great images and when it's paired with Just Like Dad paper...it's the perfect masculine card for that special guy in your life. Put it with Uptown Girl paper and you've got a great feminine golfing card. Great fun!

The Party Time stamp set paired with the Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze ink makes for a quick cute card. Stamp your image. Layer your white ultrasmooth on a coordinating piece of matchmaker and then on TAC Navy cardstock and it's done before you know it. I love it!

Happy stamping!

Tornados

A tornado went through town last night. I was called at 10:30 to come over to my boss' house to get in the basement. I usually kind of "ride out" the storms but this storm had damaged 80% of a town about 35 miles from Manhattan so I went. There was a bunch of damage at Kansas State University ($20 million so far) and 30-40 homes were destroyed as well as many damaged. Fortunately, neither my friend's house or my apartment were damaged and all of my other friends are ok too. whew!

Here's a link to a bunch of pics, if you're interested. It's been one crazy spring! Supposedly every Thursday since sometime in April has had a severe storm somewhere in Kansas. I don't ever remember a spring like this one. Be safe!

P.S. wasn't it just 6 months ago when we were covered in ice? What a year!

Kid's birthday fun and tagged

You know, we've all got these special little people in our lives whether they're our own or our nieces or nephews or children of friends. The hard part is finding a cute little card for them or more than one cute little image for their cards.

The current TAC Level B Hostess Set, Fluffy Friends, is perfect for these precious little ones. I've used this set in many ways but here is one of my most current designs with this set. Here's the outside and inside. It's simple and quick and I think the crop-a-dile adds a nice element on the side. And, I love the color combo of cobalt DCWV and black.

And, I was tagged by Barb and Heather (you should definitely click on their names and check out their blogs - awesome stuff!) so here are my responses:

Ten Years Ago:
Pretty much same as now but I was doing much more quilting and craft sewing and very little if any stamping. :) I was working at the same place but in a different department. My friends hadn't started getting married or having kids yet so we played a lot on week-ends. Good times. And, I was ten years younger (lol!) :)

Five things in my "to do" list today:
1. Go stamp on seminar stuff
2. update my blog (done - hee hee!)
3. Put baby star books together
4. make chocolate no bake cookies (done! - yum!)
5. Go to bed at a decent time so I can actually make it to work on time. (the jury is still out on that one.)

Snacks I enjoy:
Chips and Salsa
Hot Tamales
Popcorn

Things I would do if I was a millionaire:
Travel, travel, travel!

Places I have lived:
Kansas (4 different towns/cities)
Dijon, France for a summer (study abroad)

Thanks for tagging me girls!

An 'udder Birthday?!

Several color challenges lately have been using primary colors. I was intrigued. I didn't follow any of the guidelines exactly but the influence was there.

I used An'udder Birthday set which was in the Spring Supplement. Stardust Glittering Gel Pens were used to color in the bikini and ice cream cone. (love those pens - smoothest gel pens I've ever used!). It's layered on a giga merchandise tag punched from DCWV which is layered on black cardstock a grid-scored piece of DCMW white core paper (love the scor-pal!) and a piece of Kaleidoscope Boyz paper.

Here's the inside. Isn't it fun?

By the way, the last day to order from the Fall/Winter 2008 TAC Catalog is June 20th. And, TAC has just released a sneak peek stamp set from the upcoming catalog and you can order it now!!! Click here to see this fun new stamp! And, here's anexample of a card made with this set on the TAC homepage.
